This server-based correspondence chess game began in mid-August and ended today when my 30.Rxf8# caught the Black King in a Rook, Bishop-pair combination checkmate.

Snippets from the "random thoughts" file I keep running and constantly updated on my Raspberry Pi computer.

29 Sept. 2012 – Saturday

~14:30 1.) News reports about flight cancellations and delays on American Airlines have me a little concerned about my trip next month.

~13:30 1.) Most of the early part of this day was spent working on my CC games. 2.) Now listening to the Aggies game. When it’s over I’ll try to follow the Rangers game and the Longhorns game after that on TV. 3.) Time on the RPi will be very limited today as I’ll be using its monitor for the TV viewing.

28 Sept. 2012 – Friday

~17:15 1.) Well, that weather that’s been threatening all day seems ready to strike any minute. Might be a good idea to shut down some of these computers.

~15:30 1.) Seems I’ve firmly slipped into "weekend mode." 2.) Once again, I caught Rush on the radio, freeing up the late afternoon and early evening for other things. 3.) Am busy now reading and cataloging comic books, and recoding video files.

~10:30 1.) Oct. rent paid, banking done, Oct. bus pass bought, grocery shopping done: all outside chores have been taken care of. Let it rain now, I don’t need to step outside until Sunday.

~08:15 1.) The rain forecast for this weekend has me scheduling activities around it: outside chores this morning and Sunday, staying in this afternoon through Sunday morning.
