A Correspondence Chess Win by Resignation

This server-based Standard Correspondence Chess game began in late September and ended yesterday afternoon when my opponent playing Black resigned after my 18.Nxc6. Though I had slightly better position on the board, our armies were of nearly equal size and Black had plenty of firepower left (his Queen, both Rooks, and a Knight) with which to launch a strong campaign against my King. In my opinion there was still a lot of chess to be played here; the middle game was just getting interesting and the endgame wasn’t even in sight yet.

Still, I’ll gladly take my victories whenever and however they come. 😀
