28 Mar 2013 – Thursday

1.) Just got home from an eleven hour work shift with the K of C: meetings, banking, working a very busy fund raiser. And man, am I ever beat. I expect tomorrow to be at least this busy. Lord knows it’ll start way earlier than today did. Hope I sleep well tonight and wake early in the morning..

1.) Last night’s dream-filled, 7-hour sleep was restful. And that’s good. Looks like I’ll require a steady regimen of that just to hold my own against the double-whammy of bad sunburn and allergy that’s working on me now.
2.) Made another attempt to set up cloud printing, and once again failed. It appears I’ll need to connect the printer to a Windows machine first, as the instructions call for.

27 Mar 2013 – Wednesday

1.) Have downloaded and studied the Galaxy Note manual, think I’ll be able to handle incoming calls better now. I’ve had the darned thing for almost 3 weeks, I’d say it’s about time I learned to use it as a phone and not just a pocket computer.

1.) I’ve actually had time today to do some comic book reading. It has been weeks since I’ve last done any of that! And it feels good!
2.) Have been flooding my system with allergy meds, so I’m less sick today – more zombied, but less sick. Woman at the pharmacy told me, “We’re all in the same boat right now.” when I stopped in to restock my meds a few hours ago.

The page may be empty now, but…

But it won’t be for long. I have a lot of work to do: typing up a report for a business meeting next month, preparing material for officers and committee members, etc. I do spend a lot of time with my Libre Office word processor these days. That empty page seen here on my computer desktop won’t be empty for much longer.

26 Mar 2013 – Tuesday

1.) High pollen count today has me operating at efficiency levels far below my best. I really don’t like that.

25 Mar 2013 – Monday

1.) The Day’s been productive: many chores taken care of, good chess work, a meeting over the phone which will lead to one or two f2f tomorrow, two loads of laundry, chats with neighbors and staff, and the evening’s still ahead.
2.) If it wasn’t for my sunburned head, I’d say the day thus far has been darned near perfect – for a Monday. 🙂

1.) Last night’s restful, 7-hour sleep gave me what I need to face this Monday.
2.) Moving smoothly through the day’s chores already.
3.) Out under the sun for too long yesterday without a hat, dealing with a sunburned head today.

Today’s pollen count

… is very, very high. I’ve heard news reports on local radio today proclaiming that we are smack in the middle of one of the worst allergy seasons in recent memory. Those of us with allergies to the tree pollens can certainly vouch for that.

This is one of those very odd days that has beautiful, sunny blue skies, but the high pollen count makes some of us, and I am in that group, too darned sick to appreciate it. I tried to make it through a couple of business meetings today, but I was far from my best level of performance.

Today's pollen count...

24 Mar 2013 – Sunday

1.) Home from the evening Palm Sunday Mass at the Cathedral and, MAN, am I ever tired.
2.) Glad I’m back in time to finish out the first half of the Spurs/Rockets game. Bet I’ll be fading by the time the game’s over.

1.) After a 6-hour work-shift ove at the Cathedral, I’m home freshening up for the second big event of the day: Mass celebrated by the Archbishop. Expecting a crowd, I’ll need to be there early.

1.) Palm Sunday morning finds me still waiting for the fog of last night’s 6.5-hour sleep to lift. As soon as I’m able I’ll be over at the Cathedral for a full day of work.

23 Mar 2013 – Saturday

1.) Just got home from the Talons game. The home team lost, but I had a good time. Chose not to stay for the post-game concert; I’m not a fan of hip-hop/rap… at all.
2.) I should have worn the pedometer today; could have logged a pretty significant walking workout.
3.) Hope I can get to sleep soon (I’m not tired in the least) because I need to be up really early in the morning.

1.) It’s been a good, productive day. The week’s haul of new comic books picked up from AW, chats with John and Gina there, two bags of groceries picked up from HEB store, gave catalog to clerk downstairs with info he’d asked about, mailed subscription request to the Archdiocese newspaper, moved in all pending CC games, and am now following March Madness games prior to heading over to the Alamodome for tonight’s arena football game.

1.) Last night’s SAS Concert was a mixed bag. On the one hand, the music was excellent. But on the other hand, the deportment of the audience was well below par. Too many people were there who did not know how to behave in such a place, and that was disappointing.
2.) Glad Bill Whittle did a Stratosphere Lounge this week. Enjoying it this morning is a good antidote to the nightmare that woke me from last night’s sleep.
3.) That nightmare? It contained a horrible woman with whom I used to be involved acting horribly, as she used to do.

22 Mar 2013 – Friday

1.) That afternoon meeting? It was three hours long, from 14:00 to 15:00, but it was time well spent. Home now, and after chatting quickly with neighbors and staff, and after eating a quick meal, I’m getting ready for tonight’s symphony concert.

1.) Glad the Sandman brought me a restful 8.5-hour sleep last night; that’ll help me make it through this busy day and evening ahead.
