1.) What an extraordinarily busy day this has been! But it’s been a good day. And I pulled it off after a short, 4.5-hour sleep last night.
2.) My pace of activity will remain much, much higher than it has been for a long time and will continue at that pace well into the foreseeable future.
3.) Hope I sleep better tonight. I bet I will!

1.) Last night’s good 8-hour sleep led into what has been an acceptably productive day. I’d like to have accomplished more, but that always seems to be the case these days.
2.) New check-out girl at a neighborhood store told me this afternoon that I looked like “that guy from Jurassic Park.” When I laughed, she said she was going to tell me that the other day, but she was afraid I might be mad. I said, “At least you didn’t tell me I looked like one of the dinosaurs in that movie.” “No, no,” she replied,”You look like someone famous.”
This weekend sees the final concerts of the San Antonio Symphony’s classical series for this season, and Mahler’s 3rd Symphony will be performed. In this video clip our conductor, Sebastian Lang-Lessing, is discussing that piece.
Of course, I’m intending to be in my seat at the Majestic Theatre on Friday night for this.

1.) Afternoon meetings went well, and a surprise evening business meeting went well, too. It seems I’ll start setting up my computer over at the Cathedral on Friday afternoon. I must admit I’m a bit curious about where my desk will be. I hope it’ll have some degree of privacy and not be stuck out in the middle of a common space.
1.) Another morning spent moving furniture has opened a LOT of space here in my front room. Things are MUCH more comfortable in here now. Plans are for something similar to be done in the back room later this summer.

1.) After a productive morning spent moving computers and monitors around, then doing a bit of shopping online and in the neighborhood, I’m relaxing to a Rangers game on the radio. And this’ll be followed by a Spurs game on the radio tonight. Not a bad way to spend Memorial Day.
This server-based Fischer Random Correspondence Chess game began in early March and ended last week when my opponent, playing Black, resigned after my 33.Qxg4. No, I hadn’t yet checkmated the Black King, but it was clear to both of us that I’d be able to do that quite easily in the next few moves.
The opening board we were assigned, our full move record, and position of pieces at game’s end:
