Thankfully, I’m saved from becoming despondent at the sad state of American politics by the recent election of Rodrigo Duterte as President of the Philippines. His term of office will run for six years. Sylvia and I will be living in Cebu under this term.
His inaugural speech, included in this post, was given last week. He is a good man whose presidency promises bold new changes for the country.
You may be interested to note Sylvia’s uncle, former President of the Philippines Joseph Estrada, who is mentioned and prominently pictured in the audience during the first few seconds of this coverage.
