FTA: “In the wake of violence across the nation this past week, the Knights of Columbus have issued a campaign encouraging people to join them in praying for peace.
“The violent episodes of the past week have shocked the conscience of our country,” said Supreme Knight Carl Anderson.”
After the deadly ambush of police in Dallas, and other police-related shootings around the country, all Knights, their families, and all people of good will are asked to pray St. Francis of Assisi’s prayer for peace for nine days – from July 14 through July 22.
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy; O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.“
